'Just finished the 3-book series, hadn't had any previous exposure to this author. Suffice to say, I was so impressed and entertained that I will be scooping up future works from McDermott. The characters are well-developed (not tiresomely when they first come onto the stage, but over time, as circumstances mold them). Plots are tight and credible, and the stories (all three are linked to a fair degree, but stand on their own just fine) snag you early and keep you reading blearily-eyed into the wee hours. Thank you, Mr. McDermott - you have a new fan!"
